Submit Poster Art

Poster Art submissions are now closed for the 49th Annual Taos Fall Arts Festival.

This year, All New Mexico artists or artists exhibiting their work in a Taos art gallery are invited to submit their art online for this year’s Poster Award. See previous award winners here.

The poster art will also be the used by the Festival for its print advertising and collateral promotional materials, which will also include other images selected from the submissions. The poster artist will receive a cash award of $500.00 and thousands of dollars worth of print and web exposure, an opportunity to hold a talk during the festival, 15 Festival Posters, as well as a special display wall for their art at the Festival.

The show theme “A Celebration of Arts, Culture and History” is broad and intended to inspire artists to contemplate representational or abstract interpretations of myth, including all things of the earth and sky, in addition to traditional subjects. The poster submission is open to all styles and media. The images submitted should be vertical, visually engaging, colorful and representative of the culture or environment of Taos or Northern New Mexico.

Submitted work must have been completed within the last 24 months and not currently exhibited in a retail setting. The work must be available for purchase at the Festival.

The poster dimensions are 18”x24”. Although the poster is not a fundraiser for the Festival, limited copies of the poster will be available for sale during the Fall Arts Festival. We try not to repeat themes or styles.

The Fall Arts Festival retains the right to use all or part of the selected image in future advertisements. The selected artist will sign the limited edition of 100 posters, should be willing to participate in at least one radio interview and/or lecture, and must be available on the opening night of the Festival.

Image Artist Awards will also be selected from the works submitted to the Poster Artist call. These artists will be given a shared, dedicated wall at the Open Exhibition, be announced in articles and some advertising and be featured on the Taos Fall Arts website.
